Pyrus calleryana

Since posting the previous post, my curiosity got the better of me and I had to look up the flowering and de-flowering (there is no connotation to that last word other than the innocent patterns displayed by natures wondrous ways) habits of the Flowering pear tree and learned that this tree blooms in the Spring and the Fall.

Thanks, I was curious about that too. I guess they blossom twice to make up for the fact that they aren't "real" pear trees, just flowering pears. Is someone trying to compensate for something?

Either way, good for them for avoiding peer pressure and resisting conventional wisdom.

They also get the full attention of any bees who haven't frozen to death yet.
This is such a BEAUTIFUL TREE!! I love it!
